Tips to Eat Healthy in College

A common problem that all of us college kids have is trying to eat healthy while at school. It’s difficult if you are on a meal plan because you don’t have too many options. It’s also difficult when you’re not on one because you don’t have too much time (or money). Here are some tips to help you eat better while at school.

1. If you don’t have a meal plan, meal prep. There are a lot of ways to do this, but finding a way that works for you is easy! Just prepare for the week on Sundays and you’ll be set. This saves lots of time and money. Here are a few plans: Trader Joe’s, Under $50, Save Time.

2. Read the labels at your Dining Hall. If your d-hall doesn’t have labels, then ask the chef to provide you with nutrition information. Usually, the chefs want to help the students, so they will probably be happy to give you some info. Sometimes, nutrition¬†info may even be online.

3. Check your dining hall’s menu ahead of time. Usually, it’s online, and if you do this, you can prepare for days that you know the cafeteria won’t have healthy food. You can plan to grocery shop for those days or find a healthier place to eat.

That’s all for now! See you next week!
